Webinar - The Nine Essential Components of a State Damage Prevention Program

CPR Training

In an effort to provide the NUCA membership expanded educational opportunities, NUCA has organized a series of industry webinars.  This week's webinar is The Nine Essential Components of a State Damage Prevention Program

Special Guest Presenter: Mr. Shane Ayers, Deputy Director, Virginia State Corporation Commission’s Division of Utility and Railroad Safety

In 2013, Virginia State CorporaƟon Commission Division of Utility and Railroad Safety Director Massoud Tahamtani gave a presentation to the annual conference of the Common Ground Alliance entitled “ The Nine Elements of a Successful State Damage Prevention Program.”

This identification of these essential elements was the result of a long tenure of success in leading the Virginia “Miss Utility” system to a 77% reduction in underground damages.

Shortly after that presentation, The U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) adapted Massoud’s “Nine Essential Components” as a guideline for all states to follow Virginia’s long road to improved performance in damage prevention.

Come listen as Mr. Shane Ayers outlines the “nine essential elements” and takes questions from NUCA members all over the country on how then can go about working with their state “Miss Utility” systems to help implement these critical steps to success.
